Air Force, son of Mrs. Lora Johnson of Burnsville RFD 3, was honored with a trophy, jacket, and a trip to Dover, Dela ware to play ball. Sgt. Johnson is manager of the ball team. Gary is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Banks of Burnsville. Mr and Mrs. John Chaffin of Troy, N. C. have moved to Bur nsville. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Young of Asheville were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Young of New dale last week-end. ' Mrs. W. L. Bennett has re turned to 1 her home here from St. Joseph Hospital in Asheville where -she has been undergoing treatment for several days. She will return to the hospital for surgery in two weeks. Mr. and Mr s . Albert Wyatt visited Kay Boone in Baptist Hos pital in Winston Salem Sunday. They reported that she is much improved and hopes to get home next week. Miss Sybil Annette Edwards, daughter oif Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Edwards is atending JJlanton’s Business College in Asheville. Miss Edwards is a 1961 graduate of East Yancey High School. Rev. J. R. Dawkins in Martins Chapel Methodist Church at Newdale on Friday, Septem- 1 | ber lat 7:30 p. m. I ’ The ceremony was _ performed before an altar banked with white floral arrangements and lighted tapers. Wedding music was presented by Miss Judy Harris and Miss Faye Boone. The bride is the daughter of* Mr. and Mrs. J. I. Wyatt of Newdale and the groom is the 'son of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Renfro of Green Mountain and Johnson City, Tenn. The bride entered the church with the bridegroom and wore a <JJ>iffon waltz length dress and J carried a White Bible and a bouquet of pink carnations. The bride’s mother wore a black lace dress, and the bride-! groom’s mother wore blue lace. Decorations and floral arrange ments were by Mrs. Alan Honey cutt and Mrs. Guy Boone. A reception was held in the home of the bride’s Parents fol lowing the ceremony. Com munity Club met Thursday night, September 17th, with 15 members present. It was decided to have another chicken barbecue supper I befor e cold weather.
