Inman, with his wife Mary and three children, will be mov ing to Burnsville from Waynes ville where he served as pastor. Group Ministry To Meet At Martin’s Chapel The Yancey, County Group Ministry will meet at Martins Chapel Methodist Church at New dale on August 2. There will be a picnic lunch at 1:00 p. m. The program will begin at 2:00 p. m. and will consist of a panel with the Rev. Tom Rutledge as moderator and the Yancey County Group ministry on the panel. The program subject will be ‘-Together For Christ.”’ Dr. Jenson Sings Ballads At Annual Picnic The anual picnic of the Burns ville Men’s Club was held Mon-J day July 27 at 7:00 p. m. on the grounds of the Community Build ing. » tlliftri Dr. Henry W. Jenson, Dean of Warren Wilson College, gave a delightful program singing his Broom Sage Ballads. Dr. Jenson is a graduate of Harvard Univer sity. He has witten many folk songs and entertained the group with some of his own composi tions as well as with the old familiar ballads. The North Carolina Volunteers from Mitchell and Yancey Coun ties attended the picnic. They were Introduced by Mayor Rob ert Hehnle, and he explained some of the things they were doing in the two counties. Ramona Bowditch was 3rd place winner in the State Dress Revue; Gary Bennett was 3rd place winner in both Civil De fense ar.'.l Public Speaking. Gary, also, won a blue ribbon in the Health Pageant.
