Nine Industries in Buncom be County are experiencing tremendous business growth Because of this growth, the employment opportunities in the metal working divisiions have been estimated to be around 200 jobs available. The manpower require ments are broken down as follows: A. Machine Operators. B. Machinist. C. Tool Ac Die Makers. In order to meet the Man power requirements of these expanding Industries, the Asheville-Buncombe Technical Institute has established the following program. 1. Four groups of twenty students will begin the Fall quarter of studies on August 16 in the Machine Shop Cur riculm. 2. At the close of the Fall quarter these students will be given an opportunity to take employment In the metal working divisions of the nine industries. D. Mc- Kinney. There were 18 pre sent, representing 7 families. The Devotion was given by Mrs. S. D. McKinney followed by a prayer given by Charles Wilson. Mr. Dillingham was the guest speaker and show ed slides on “Developing Nor th Carolina’s Human Resour ces.” A rpecial meeting was plan ned for Friday, July 23. at 6:00 p. m. to be held at the Community Play Ground on the Ray Road. The Building Committee announced that there had been a lot of work donated on the Community Building and it is h' ped to get it un der nos before the judging. A special THANK YOU is extended to all- the contribu tions thus far, especially to those living outsiide the com munity. Mr. Dillingham announced that the Ploodmobile would be !n Burnsville. August 5. Also the Craft Fair, whtifr br held annually on the Burns ville T->wn Square, would be August 7.
