* .... JHr Miry Hid A iittli link By: Father Robert Valenia Father, Son and Holy Ghost ( . . . one eternal God. Father Is God, Son Is God, Holy Ghost Is God ... yet there is only ONE God: three persons; one God In time the Son took flesh of Mary: “Therefore, the holy one to be bom shall be call ed the Son of God.” (Lk. 1:28-35). Jesus is God Jesus is man. He is the God man, the bridge between God and man. As man He was born of Mary ... as God he created Mary. He is the Father of His mother. Is it not? - If y:u could create your mother, would you not make her the best, the most, the greatest of all works? Jesus did just that. Mary is won derful. Luther wrote: “ . . in a word all dignities are em braced in Mary.” Calvin wrote: “We cannot acknow ledge the bles lngs brought tu by Jesus without acknow ledging at the same time how highly God honored and enriched Mary in choos ing her. ... ” Nevertheless, the fact remains that He is the Creator ... she is the creature. She is great be cause of Him. Like the moon, sue reflects her Son, with out Him, she is nothing. To ADORE Mary then is an outrageous SIN. But to scorn her ... to refuse her respect, honor and love is to wound the Bon. He lived .within her. nursed at her breast and was “obedient” to her. Obviously He loved her. So when we “Put ye on the mind of Christ,” as St. Paul says, can we then af ford to ignore her? Adore her? Never! Ignore her? Ab solutely not? But love, honor and resnect the mother of Jesus. That is the answer. At the CRIB Mary elves Jesus to the world. At CANA, she asks her Son: “They have no wine.” And then Jesus performs His first -nlr acle by changing wat°r into w ! ne. And at CALVARY . . . eh, yes . . . at CALVARY, He gave us His mother, wh°n He said: “Woman, beho’d thy Son.” Then He said to the disciple, “Behold thy mother ” And from that hour the disciple took her into his home If by Baptism we are sons of God and brother of Jesus, are we not also in a sense the sons of Ma~y? Mary had a little Lamb. . the Lamb of God And It is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. For Mary’s little lamb is no other than the Savior of the world. He whom all Christ ians odore, is truly Mary’s Son as well as Her God. TEWMINIX j AUTHORISED RIP. B. B. FINLAND & V SOKCtf. PHONE 682-2115 ‘ BURNSVILLE,'* N. C. THE YANCEY RECORD W.A.M.Y.
