Spruce Pine Hospital
Begins Public
Relations Program
SPRUCE PINE At the
regular monthly meeting of
the Board of Trustees of the
Spruce Pine Community
Hospital a joint Public Re
lations and Security • Pro
gram was unanimously ap
proved. The program which
will be completely Imple
mented on or about the 15th
of November Is the results
of a six weeks study by the
Public Relations Committee;
consultation with the Direc
tor of Nurses and Adminis
trator as well as staff phy
sicians.
R. T. Dent, Chairman of
the Public Relations Com
mittee told the Board of
Trustees “that the problem
of too many visitors is not
unique to the Spruce Pine
Community Hospital and
many instances have occur
red through-out the state
where well meaning persons
have interrupted medical
treatment and inadvertently
kept patients from getting
the rest prescribel by their
doctors’’.
The following is the reso
lution unanimously adopted
by the Board of Trustees.
WHEREAS: The Spruce
Pine Community Hospital
Incorporated is ‘ a non profit
corporation dedicated to the
promotion of health and
welfare of its patients, it has
necessary to institu
te certain rules and regula
tions regarding visitations
at the hospital for the bene
fit and protection of its
patients who are its primary
responsibility, and that we
the Board cf Trustees re
spectfully ask for the coop
eration of the public in
abiding by these regulations,
deemed to be reasonable and
necessary, in order that the
corporation fulfill its legal
and moral responsibility to
the public.
Additional news releases
will be made within the
next three weeks to advise
the public of this new pro
gram.
