This was the farthest that he had traveled this way in the lower end of the county since he went away 18 years ago; although he said that he had spent a brief visit at Bakersville, the county seat three years ago with rela tives. It is recalled that Honey cutt was sheriff of Mitchell County for several years and he Is now 77 years old and after he was no longer sheriff of Mitchell County he went to Winston-Salem where he operated a re staurant before he retired from public business.
