The night Is far spent and the day is at hand, let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the garm ents of light. There is no doubt that the Church is today faced with her greatest challenge to get the Gospel out. And at the same time the greatest opposition, unseen forces and powers, are at work to un dermine and destroy the very foundation of the Chur ch. Notice in Ephesians, 6- 12; a verse of scripture re lating to the Church and her struggle in these last days; For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against pow ers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against Spiritual wickedness in high places. This has never been more truer than today. There is a spiritua battle going on, tbs battle field is the clrsest of nraye-., where the issue will be de cided, where the battle will either be won or lost. It Is a fight all the way. We are shocked at graft in high places, where greatness sho uld be seen. Greed for gain throughout the Nation, Is making dope fiends, of our Juveniles Alcoholics of mo thers, and fathers, fire haz ards of every man, w-man, bay and girl that smokes. If the Church of Jesus Christ on earth, is to meet the challenge of this crisis hour she must ghd for the battle. This will mean self denial, hard snorifie'al work. It will mean misunderstanding, dis annointment, testing, humi liation. and an utter depe~d e"ce upon God through pre vairng prayer. The Church must be awakened if p.van gelical Christianity is to stay al>ve With the twin threats rs Communism, and- Reman Catholicism, she must gird herself for battle, she must r-v out, against sin, both in the Church and out of the Church She must develop a~>d train aggressive leaders, who fear only sin, and obey only God. She must stand courageously for truth under all circumstances. Men in factories, shops, and offices, \ must be touched by a divine fire, that will change dawd lers into dynamic witnesses. And social butterflies, Into Angels of mercy, who will carry the good news of mer cy, and Salvation to the neg lected, and to the outcasts. A right view of the world to come will change our rela tion to the world into which we now live. This is not a playground, but a battle- TIIURSDAY, NOV. 1.1, 1965 field; we are not in a fellow - ship, but a fight. We are not In a crusade for'culture, but In a grim warfare for Christ. It is unbelievable but true. 98% of the worlds popu’a tlon, is still unsaved; 65% of the worlds population are suffering from Malnutrition; 55% are living in Illiteracy; 50% go to bed hungry every night: 35% have no bed to sleep In ; 30% of worlds pop ulation are confined to hos pitals or Institutions; 48% of the worlds population are existing on 30% of the worlds wealth; 98% of the Ministers, in the world are preaching to 7% of the wor lds population, leaving only 6% of the ministers of the world to preach to the 93% left This makes the churches responsibility greater than ever today. This article is going out with a prayer that It will touch, and move peo ple to pray. Prayer can avert Judgment and bring revival, and healing to our land. What we do must be done quickly, let us turn our pray er meetings, into prayer meetings, instead of lectures, this spiritual crisis in the Church, can be turned into revival, God is depending on YOU.
