Although the Cane River team lost, Hill kept the hoop warm by dropping in 26 of the 53 points scored by the Rebels. Wilson followed with 10 points, with Laws 6, Mc- Curry 5, Proffitt 4, and Tip ton 2. At Marshall Tuesday night the Cane River teams lost both hard fought games to the strong Marshall High "I teams: The Marsha’l girls made a final stand with a ten point lead, ending the game 42-32. At the end of regu lar play the score was 73-73. However, during the over time period, the Marshall boys managed to mark up five more points, while the Rebel team scored two. The game ended in overtime play at 78-75 in favor of the Marshall five. Hill played his regular high scoring game for the Rebels with 35 of the sev enty-five points. Tipton marked up 11, and G. Whit son 10. Others scoring for the local Rebels were Laws 7, Wilson 5, Whitson 4, Prof fitt 2 and McCurry one. On Friday night at the East Yancey Gym, Cane River Rebels meet the East Yancey Panthers. Hard fought games are always served when these two coun ty teams meet,, which draws a large specator group.
