The weather here at this
writing is kindly faired up
somewhat, after the big
e-ow-storm we had here
Saturday, Jan. 15th, with 10
inches of the white stuff.
The most exceptional part
of the snow storm was. that
it dumped up io 10 Inches
mostly everywhere. The
writer heard half dozen re
ports, and 10 Inches was the
depths of snow in there, such
as Tennessee, Mitchell and
Yancey Counties. Some re
ports say Avery County,
North Carolina had little
over 10 inches.
Another snow-storm struck
this area over the week-end,
bringing with it, cold-bitter
weather for the area. Up to
approximately four Inches,
fell here In this area throu
gh Saturday and up until
about mid-day Sunday, Jan.
23rd. The last two major
snow-storms we have had
here In this area, has dump
ed up to about 14 Inches of
the white stuff.

- The birds have moved in
to this area. Just a day or so
before the winter snow
storm moved into this area,
it was' reported that very
large flocks of birds flew
across this area. One report
er said that they were by the
millions! (This writer didn't
doubt it very much, since he
saw hundreds fly across
before then, and also after).
The birds were headed on a
north, north west direction.
