Johnse Allen of Greensboro and Vaughn Allen Jr. of RFD 5; four s'sters, Mrs. Kenneth Blalock of Marion, Mrs. Phyllis Mace, Mrs Hattie Rall e w and Mrs. Conn'e chrisawn of RFD 5; two brothers, Eugene and Raymond Autrev of Rpp 5; and two grandchildren. S.died Sunday morning in a Buncombe County hospital following a long illness. He was a native of Yancey County and a veteran of World War 11. Surviving are the widow. Mrs. Ruth Simmons Gibbs, a daughter, Charlene, and a son. Newdale Club Meets Mrs. Coleen Young, Reporter The Newdale Extension Homemakers Club met Tues day. Jan. 17th, with Mrs. Homer Price. A devotional by Mrs. Clyde Edwards and Mrs. Alvin Jones was greatly en joyed by the 12 members and two guests present. The following new officer* were elected; President. Mra. Estelle Edwards; Vice Presi dent, Mrs. Juanita Wilson; Secretary and Treax., Mra. Mlary Johnson; Reporter. Mrs. jack Young. The Club voted to continue holding the meetings the third Tuesday in each month.
