Both w.ll be served by distr.ct Scout executive Frank Gay. The new district will be composed of all the Scouting units in Madison and Yancey Counties. Mad.son was for merly a part of the French Broad distret and Yancey of the Mayland district. An or ganizational meeting has been set for Monday night, February 6, in Room 32 of the Administration building at Mars Hill College. The heads of all Institutions wh : - ch sponsor one or more Scouting un’ts, their institu tional representatives, and several key Bcouters from bpth counties wll meet and begin the formation of the new distr ct. Ultimately a new name will be chosen, a district committee elected, a commissioner’s staff ap^ , po nted and a district calen* dar developed.
