They came especially for the christening of their granddaughter, Heather Eliza beth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Staunton Norris. Mrs. Norris is the former Judy Byrd Bennett. Mr and Mrs Phillip Styles were called to Alexandria, Va., last week due to the serious ill ness of Mrs. Styles’ father, Mr. Salv c Ramsey. He received his B. S. Degree in Education from A. S. T. C„ Boone, in 1961. Frank s first teaching job was with Glenwood School, McDow ell County. For the past four years he has been teaching Hs tery and English at Hall Flet cher Junior High School in Asheville. He and his wife, the former Dmna Aldridge of Glenwood, N. C„ make the r home in Ashe ville. Garden Club Meets The Burnsville Garden Club met at the heme of Mrs. W. S. Reeve last Frday night. Miss Elizabeth C. Wright was assist ant hostess. Mrs. E. R. Gillespie gave a program on flower ar ranging. She showed pictures and gave nstructicns on how to arrange bouquets for each mon th of the year. Mrs. Reeve who presided at the business session appointed Mrs. E. R. Gillespie and Mrs. Troy Ray to take charge of the flower box contest. The contest is for the business houses and first, second and third pr zes will be awarded for the places having the most attractive flow er boxes. The judging will take place toward the latter part of the summer. A discussion was held on how to beautify the county. It was suggested that the most press ing need is a place for the county residents to dump their rubbish. Federal aid may be obtained now for projects of this type. Mrs. W. A. Y.
