Rev. Thomas W. Weeks, .pastor of the church, was the officiating minister. Steve Proffitt was vocalist, with Miss Susan Hensley at the piano. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Doan of Bur nsville. The groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Gornto of Green Mountain. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor leng th gown of white peau de soio, with lace appliques embroidered in pearls. Her veil was of illus ion attached to a pearl coronet. She carried white orchids with satin streamers. The maid of honor, Miss Hel en Deyton of Green Mountain, wore a floor length gown of green chiffon, and carried a cascade of green shasta daisies. The bridesmaids were Mrs. David Doan of Asheville and Mrs. William Harold Doan, of Morehead City, sisters-in-law of the bride. Miss Dana Brooks of Celo, Miss Linda Gornto of Green Mountain, Miss Beverly Peppers of Madison, Ga„ and Miss Dena Pickett of Durham. They wore floor length yellow chiffon dresses, and carried bouquets of yellow shasta daisies Child attendants were Faith Peppers. Sherry Fender and Michelle Fender. The bride chose for her gcing away costume a yellow suit with white accessories and a orchid fr r m her bridal corsage. The bride’s mother wore a blue suit with white accessor ies. The groom’s mother chose a brown suit with matching ac cessories. They both wore yel low corsages. The bride is a graduate of Cane River Hieh School. The groom teaches in South Toe Elementary School, Celo N. C. After a wedding trip the cou ple will reside at Green Moun tain, N. c. Rev. Niram Phillips conducted the double ring ceremony. Miss Glenna Thomas was pianist. The bride was given in mar riage by her father. Her gown was of white lace over satin. Her veil was attached to a pearl coronet. She carried a white Bible covered with white carna tions and pink rosebuds. Miss Rebecca Hughes, sister of the groom was maid of hon or. She wore a pink satin dress, similar to that of the bride, with matching veil, and carried one long stem pink rose. Mr. Preston Allen, brother of the bride, was best man. A reception followed at the bride’s home. Hostesses were Mrs. Preston Allen and Mrs. Bill Shepherd. MEDICAL PROGRESS In Kluang, Malaysia, a 4-year old girl born with a defect in a blood vessel next to her heart was operated on by a CARE MEDICO surgeon. The child, whose condition meant probable death before 20, now has an ex cellent chance for a normal life.
