West Main St. Burnsville, N.C. *——**———— l THURSDAY, AUGUST S. 1967 GLEN RAVEN PICNIC ENJJOYED BY YOUNG AND OLD At a picnic held last Sunday afternoon at East Yancey High School the employees of Glen Raven Mills and their families celebrated their record of two million man-hours worked with out a lest time accident. About 440 people were in attendance. A meal, catered by the Hill Top Restaurant, was served about 5:30 p. m. Other activities included horse shoes, soft ball, safego (a bingo game emphas izing safety), toys and baloons for the children, and lots of con versation and socialbility. Such a get-together is doubly enjoyable because it represents a story of things that did not happen; eye, back, leg or iniuries; hospital, and (T"*7r bills that it was not necessary to pay; and, most importantly, suffering and pain that was not experienced.
