According to Mr. Neal Dover a person never gets too old to learn. He knows this is true. How? Let’s go back a few years in Mr. Dover’s life. Several years ago he began work on the railroad as a track man. Now approximately 37 years later he is an engineer. However, with a bigger job and more responsibi lity, he found he needed more knowledge. To get this needed knowledge where else would he go but back to school. In January he enrolled in the Adult Basic Education classes at Burnsville Elementary School. Although he only went to the sth grade in school he had, thro ugh the years, become a self educated man. Tnerefore, in stead of beginning at 6th grade level, Mr. Dover was placed in higher level books. Now he is in refresher books and working to ward his high school equival ency. His teacher says, “Mr. Dover is> an eager student and it is very meaningful to me to teach him." Mr. Dover says, “I wouldn’t take anything for the time I’ve spent in school. I’m going all the way.” Mr. Dover is a native of Mit chell County but has lived in Yancev County for many years, has helped raise five children and to many people is no stranger.
