OBITUARIES WALTER CLONTZ Services for Walter Clontz, 74, of Burnsville, Rt. 2. who died Saturday, were held Monday at 11 a. rr>. in the chapel of Ho! - ccmbe Brothers Funeral Home. The Rev Alvin Jones officiat ed. Burial was in Hyatt Ceme tery. Surviv ng are two sisters. Mrs. Minnie Jimison of Burnsville and Mrs. Lena Banks of Ashe ville. ARTHUR JARRETT Services for Arthur Lee Jar rett, 23, who died in a Miami, Fla. hospital Thursday night, were held at 2 p. m. Monday in Burnsville Presbyterian Church. Dr. G. G. Mahy officiated. Burial was in McMahan Ceme tery. A Marine Reserve conduct ed military graveside rites. Mr. Jarrett was a native of Yancey County and had beei liv'ng in Miami for two years, where he was assistant manager of Rose Auto Store. He served with the U. S. Marine Corps from 1961 to 1964. Surviving are the mother Mrs.- Vrginia Rathbone Jarrett; five sisters, Mrs. Jacinto Batis ta of Sanford, Conn., Mrs. W. D. Wilson of Asheville, and Misses Nora Jane, Marie Louise and Ruth Elizabeth Jarrett of the home; a brother, Wiliam Jar rett of the home; the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. WORLEY WILSON Worley W'ilson, 66. of Rt J, died unexpectedly in his horn* Tuesday morning. Mr. Wilson was a lifelong re sident of Yancey County. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Gertrude Wilson; two daughters. Mrs. Robert Harrison of Wood land. Wash., and Mrs. Harry Raymond of Tampa. Fla.; two sons. Perry of Marion Rt. 4 and Charles Wilson of Woodland; three sisters, Mrs. Pennie Mur phy of Burnsville Rt. 5. Mrs. Cora Robinson of Old Fort and Mrs. Tassie Bradley of Marion Rt. 4; two brothers, Lonnie of Marion Rt. 4 and Joe Wilson at Okanogan, Wash.; and eight grandchildren. Services w ! ll be held at 2:35 p. m. Thursday in the chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funerri Home. The Rev. Charles Willis and the Rev. Alvin Jones will offi date. Burial will be in Autrey Cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. H. W. YOUNG Harry Wilson Young, 88, d ! ed Saturday morning in a Marion hospital after a long illness. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Doris McKinney of Old Fort; and two brothers, Bis Young and L. P. Young, both of Newdale, and a number of nieces and nephews. Services were held Sunday at 3 p. m. in Newdale Presbyter ian Church. The Rev. Alvin Jones and the Rev. Lloyd Glenn officiated. Bur’al was in the church ceme tery. QUILLEN RIDDLE Quillen Riddle, 77, a retired fanner erf the Pensacola section of Yancey County, died Sunday afternoon in a local hocp.tal after a long illness. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Delphia Wheeler R ddle; three sons, Eugene of Bamardsville and Vernon and James Riddle of Burnsville; one sister, Mrs. Belvia Robertson of Black Mountan; two brothers, Carlisle and Kermit Riddle of Pensacola; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services were held Tuesday at 2 p. rri. n Laurel Branch Bap tist Church. The Rev. Robert Evans and the Rev. A. Z. Jamerson officiat ed.
