C. and Danny Buryi Hensley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hensley of Enola Road, Canton, exchanged wedding vows June 15 at the Jonas Rid ge Methodist Church. Rev. E. 0. Best e, uncle of the bride, officiated at the double ring ceremony. Mrs. Harold McKee provided the wedd ng THE YANCEY RECORD music. White glads, entwined with ivy on each side made the aeUing for the candle-light wed ding. The bride, dressed in a white satin, floor-length gown with long sleeves and a detachable train of satin and lace, was g ven in marriage by her father. Her veil was made of English net. Miss Barrier carried a wh te Bible which was covered with lace and was centered with Miss Doris Helena King, dau ghter of Mr. ' and Mrs. Arvil King, was united in marriage to Keith Edwin Hill, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edd Hill, Saturday, June 15 at 7:00 p. m. in Cane River Baptist Church. Rev. E. J. Hall conducted the ceremony. Steve Proffitt was vgca'ist and Mrs. J. F. Robinson was or ganist. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a long sleeved taffeta gown trimmed with re-embroidered lace. She had a chapel train which was also trimmed with re-embroid ered lace. Her veil of illusion was attached to a coronet. She carried a white orchid surroun ded by white carnations and lilies of the .. valley. Miss Fredia Hill, sister of the bridegroom, was Maid of Honor. She was attired in a floor length yellow satin gown and carried a nosegay ©f yel low and green carnations. Mrs. Leo King of Waynesville and Mrs. Roger Robinson were bridesmaids. They were Nile green satin dresses like the hon or attendant and carried nose gays of yellow carnations. Deb bie Wilson was flower girl. For the ceremony, the bride's mother chose a blue dress with a pink corsage. Mother of the groom wore a pink two-piece dress with a white corsage. Best man was Claburn Angel, cousin of the groom. Ushers were Fred Wilson of Weaver ville, Ernest Hilemon, Danny Randolph and Ronnie Kates. Serving at the reception, which was held immediately following the ceremony, were: Mrs. An gel, Mrs. Wilson, Mrs. Kates and Mrs. Hilemon. Af'er a wedding trip to Myr tle Beach, S. C. the couple will live in Charlotte, where the groom is employed in the office of Johnson Motor Lines. Prior to her wedding, the bride at tended Blanton’s Business Col lege and was employed by Bun combe County Library Service. The groom is a graduate of Blanton’s Business College. a white orchid. The bride’s matron of honor was Mrs. Joyce Robb ns, sister of the groom. She was attired in a yellow satin, floor-length gown which featured an empire wa stline. Her veil was of Eng lish net in a color matching her dress. A long-stem white mum was her flower. The bridesmads, dressed identically to the matron of hon or, were Miss Freida Henley, s ster of the groom, and Miss Susie Wright. Miss Angela Caus by of Drexel was flower girl and Jackie Avery of Oak Hll served as ringbearer. The best man was Howard Robinson, brother of the groom. Randy Eaker and Kenneth Bar rier were ushers. The bride’s mother was dress ed in a l'ght blue two-piece suit and the groom’s mother in a navy blue two-piece suit. Both wore white orch d corsages. The bride, a senior at Oak Hill High School, chose for her travel og costume a tan two piece suit. The groom is pre sently a foreman at Wamsutta Knitting Mils. After a week-long wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, the couple plan to make their future resid ence in the Oak Hill district. m 'fjjjjg ijjQß v> • fl IHiss Carolyn Virginia Bailey Bride Os John Franklin Campbell BALD CREEK Miss Caro lyn Virgin a Bailey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Yates Bai ley, and John Franklin Camp bell, son of Mr. and Mrs. El K. Campbell of Fayetteville ex changed marriage vows June 23, at 3 p. m. in Bald Qreek Methodist Church. The Rev. Furman J. Rogers conducted the ceremony with music presented by Miss Mary R. Rector, pianist, and Mrs. R. L. Mclntosh, vocal st. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a whie silk organza gown wth Venise lace and silk illusion mantilla. She carried a nosegay of wh te daisies. Miss Mary Kathryn Bailey, sister of the hr de, of Greens boro, was maid of honor. She was attired in a blue dotted Swiss gown wth white Venise lace and a blue net headdress. She carried a nosegay of white daisies and blue corn flowers. The bridesma ds were Mrs. Richard Lemons of Raleigh, Miss Linda Eure of Eure, and Miss Mary McCorm ck Auman of Fayetteville. Their attire matched that worn by the maid of honor. Mr. Campbell was his son’s best man. Ushers were James E. Campbell, brother of the bridegroom, Th a d Mumaw, Roger McLean, all of Fayette ville, Roy Campbell of Laurin burg, and Paul Daniel Smith of Chapel Hill. A recept on in the home of Mrs. Glen E. Proffitt, grand mother of the bride, followed the ceremony with Miss Mary A reception followed the cere mony in the Jonas Ridge School lunchroom. It was hosted by cousins of the bride, Mss Geor gia Bustle, and Miss Jackie Clarke. Mss Dolores Allman presided at the guest register. Out-of-town guests included Mrs. Roy Jamerson and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jamerson of Bur nsville and Mr. and Mrs. Forest Barrier of H «kory. THURSDAY, JUNE 27, 1968 Glen proffilt, Mrs. Vera Steele, Mrs. Ralph T. Proffitt, Mrs. James Pratt it, Mrs. Odis Pen dergraft, and Mrs. R. L. Mcln tosh assisting. For the wedding trip the bride wore a navy and white crepe sut with navy accessories. The couple will live in Bainbridge, Md. Hie bride is a graduate of U. N. C at. Greensboro. The bridegroom attended UNC at Chapel Hill and is presently serving in the United States Navy. For the ceremony the mother of the bride wore a blue crepe costume and the bridegroom’s mother a pink lace costume both with ma.ching accessories and orchid corsages. Cunningham, Blevins Wedding Announced Mrs. Opal Silver Cunningham and Ralph Luther Blevins ex changed marriage vows Satur day night, June 15, in the home of the uncle and aunt of the groom, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hyatt at Newdale, Rev. Alvin Jones performed the double ring ceremony. The bride wore a blue suit with white accessories and a corsage of pink rosebuds. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Silver, Jacks Creek, and is employed at Mohasco Mills of Burnsville. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Luther Blevins of Rt. B, Burnsville. He is employed by International Chemical Corp, of Spruce Pine.
