The accident took place Wed nesday at 3:25 p.m. on US 19E at Prices Creek intersection, Cane River Community, and was investigated by State High way Patrolman R. B. Davis. Bruce Hall Sprinkle, Rt. 2, Marshall, North Carolina was driving the 1965 Chevrolet sta tion wagon which struck the child. The injured boy was taken to Memorial Mission Hospital in Asheville for treatment of his injuries. Services will be held each morning, Mon day through Friday, at 7:00, followed by a snack breakfast of doughnuts and coffee served in the Fellowship Hall at 7:25. Eveniing services will begin each evening at 7:30. A nursery will be provided for all nursery ago children. The visiting evangelist is the Rev. James C. Town Board Os Burnsville Seeks Reelection May 6th The entire Town Board of Burnsville will seek reelection in the election of town officials to be held on May 6th. This an nouncement was made following a board meeting on Monday night. The present administration has been involved in lengthy negotiation with the Federal Economic Development Adnvn is ration, aimed at obtaining financial assistance for needed expansion of the town’s water system. A factor influencing the town board to seek reelection has been the expectation that the Federal aid will shortly be forthcoming and the improve ment program realized during the next two years. Commissioners Coletta and Helmle both served on the board during the construction of the town’s sewage disposal system, and their experience with that Federally assisted project should be valuable when the compara ble water facilities project gets under way. JC Officers Elected Monday, April 7th, the Yancey County Jaycees elected the fol lowing officers into office for 1969-70. President, Jerry Hol combe; Vice President, Sam Styles; 2nd Vice President, Gene Higgins; Secre.ary, Joe Gilles pie; Treasurer, Charlie Hen sley; St .v. Director. Billy Ray Edge, local directors, Jim Evans, Daniel Buchanan, and Dennis McCurry. The Jaycees had as their guest speaker, Cecil Shaw, who gave a very inspiring talk. Lions Meet Election of officers will be the main order of business at the meeting of the Lions Club Thursday night, April 10, 7:00 p. m. at Burnsville Elementary School. A program will be presented on the economic impact of the tomato market on this area by the Extension Agents. Special guests are being invited. Annual Dinner The Yancey County Chamber of Commerce announces that they will have their annual din ner and ladies night at East Yancey High School Cafeteria April 22 at T:00 p. m. Tickets are on sale at $2.50 per person.
