Milkmens Annual Convention Next Week
RALEIGH - For the past 51
weeks, the milkman has been
taking it on the chin with a
grin.
Dogs have been barking at
him.
Cats have been meowing.
Kids have been demanding
•o.l'
ice cream cones off the truck.
Harried housewives haw been
scribbling him illegible notes
on their orders.
An insomniac husband com
plained about the milkman " rat
tling" the cardboard containers
at 5 00 o’clock in the morning
And, once in a while, he has
had engine trouble on fri gi d
mornings.
Next week, the milkman is
going to talk back.
He will do so when the Ncrth
Carolina Dairy Products Asso -
ciation holds its annual conven
tion at Pinehurst.
One of the "milkmen" who
will be talking is Gcvemor Bob
Scott, the keynote speaker to
the 400 dairymen, suppliers aid
guests at the Carolina Hotel on

Club and the Presbyterian
Church. He is married to the
former Nell Edge, also a native
of Burnsville, and they have
three children.
