On April 18 the South Toe Youth Council was again on hand for the clean-up project. We believe that we are enga - gaged in a worthwhile project the young people remarked, Burnsville Super Market 1 but are fast finding that as quickly as the area is cleaned, it is again littered with cans, bottles and other trash. He was a native of Yancey County and a World War I veteran. He was a.mem- Xter of Melita Lodge No. 295 F. &A. Gaza Shook Crowder, 69, of Newport News, Va., died Monday morning at her home after a short illness. She was a native of Madison Coun ty and had been living in New port News for the past 18 yea* Surviving are the husband, Au burn C. Crowder; three daugh ters, Mrs. Kate Proffitt, Mrs. Donna Foxx and Mrs. Ester fbxx of Newport News; one son,Conn Crowder of Asheville; one lis ter, Mrs. Olive English of Mars Hill; three brothers, Charley of Asheville, Sylvanius of Mars Hill and Dearius Shook of Va. 9 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 p. m. Thursday in Laurel Valley Baptist Church of which she was a member. Rev Larry Biown will officiate and burial will be in the Shook Ce metery.
