In order to both learn something about working with children and to serve their community, the scouts have had a " Fun Hour" for a dozen children each Mon day afternoon. The group meets immedia tely after school for refresh - ments, active play, and play with puzzles and games. The scouts are seeking to provide a bit of individual attention for the children. The group has also made Iwo field trips—a tour of the Cane River Science Fair in April and a tout of Radio Station WKYK last Thursday. Scouts participating in the project are: Chris Miller,Rose mary Kampf, Sharon Presnell, Mitzi Presnell, Sandra Norris, Debbie Thomas, Pat Holambej, Sheree Banks, LuAnne Banks, Pam Young and Vickie Jones. Troop leaders are Mrs. Earl Young and Mrs. Charles Gilles pie. Homemakers Meeting Twenty Extension Homema kers from Yancey County will join Homemakers from 18 Wes tern Counties, including the Cherokee Indian Reservation are expected to attend the an nual meeting at Assembly Inn, Montreat, N.C. nextTuesday and Wednesday. A varied educational pro gram is planned with outstand ing speakers in their field. A fashion show will be one of the highlights of entertainment. Registration will begin at 9 A.M. Tuesday, May 12th Buncombe County E. H. Clubs will be host at a coffee hour from 9 to 10 A. Mrs. Billie Jean Simpson of Charlotte will present "Picture Fotpourri" from 10 until 11:3CL Miss Loma Langley, former state home economics agent in home economics, is lunch eon speaker. Classes will be held from 2 until 5:30 on Tuesday, and from 9 to 12:30 on Wednesday. Conducting Classes will be: Bruce Shipley with Shipl ey 1 s I Inc., on house furnishings; D. G. Hoarwood, Jr. and R. C. Wells, extension econo mis t s from N.C. State University in Raleigh, on wills and inheri - tances; Mrs. John L. Erwin of Morganton, flower arranging; Mrs. F.
