P$ Toy trains, taken from the collections of the Museum of New York City, Middletown's Toy Museum, and from seve ral private collections, came to life for 39 children this past Jr 4-H Report By Kathy Pate and Theresa McMahan The Pensacola Junior 4-H Club held its annual meeting on Wednesday, April 23, 1970, It was held in the Pensacola School Library. We discussed old business and new, and then Pat Guyer talked to us about summer 4- H Camp. Mr. Don McGalliard of the Wildlife Conservation gave us a talk about wildlife conserva tion. He told us how we couH help wildlife survive. Mr. McGalliard also told us hew we could prepare food for seme animals. He showed us howto make a squirrel box which is used to help raise many other squirrels. The Pensacola 4-H Club has made plans to go skating in May and to go on a nature hike on May 20. We have al so made plans for a bake sale and car wash on the 23rd of May. ************^ * WEEKDAYS 7 A.M. Follow ing this film, the children all made gifts to give their moth ers on Mother's Day. Miss Theresa Coletta were Mrs. Mary Young, Mrs. Nellie Style and, from the Yancey County Child Development Center, Miss Nancy Wyatt, Mrs. Young and Mrs. Jones. A lunch break will, be allowed (bring your own lunch snack) with a drink provided. Orders for the pinafore uniforms will be taken on this day. Bill Buckner of Bum s v i 1 le and Eddie Johnson of ' Mount Airy led the NCSU team. Buc kner finished third among 90 individual entries and Johnson finished sixth. Students from 11 southeas - tern universities competed. PAGE 11
