He was a lifelong resi dent of the Bee Log section of Yancey County. I2U He is survived by the wife, Tinnie Watts Brackins; two sons, Harmon and Homer of Route 4, Burnsville; one sistei; Mis. Mark N. Johnson of Los Angeles, Calif; and five grand children. Funeral services were held at 2:30 Sunday afternoon in the Bee Log Baptist ChurchPev. Niram Phillips and Rev. Ever - ett Franklin officiated. Burial was in the Family Cemetery. GALEN SILVER Galen Silver, 62, of Mid dletown, Conn, was killed in an industrial accident Thurs day afternoon. He is formerly of Yancey County and hod been employed by The Feldspar Corporation in Middletown for 11 years. And Mrs. Charles Kistler And Sons Community Get-Together By Julie Heckart When many of our summer folks have arrived, its good to see them. We had our first get-together at the Communi ty Hall in Cattail on Saturday evening, May 30. It was a jolly affair with lots of good food as usual. George Porter sure knows how to cook juicy hamburgers! The Deweys were in charge and did a fine job. 28 were present, all are look ing forward to the next picnic. Cards were enjoyed afterward with a good fire in the fire place, real cheerful and friend ly. Something new has been added, I’m told we will have gaibage collection once a week in these hills! Rev.Kistler In Hildebran Rev. Charles L. Kistler,the new pastor of the Bible Baptist Church in Hildebran, comple ted their move into the parson age on April 15. Mr. Kistler was called as pastor of the Bible Baptist Church on Janu - ary 18. Kistler are natives of Cherryville, N. Carolina. He is the son of Mrs. Leonard Goins of Cherryville and the late Gaither Kistler. His wife, the former Irmajan elle George, is the daughter of Mr. and Mis. J. H. George of Greenville, South Carolina. Both he and his wife are graduates of Bob Jones Univer sity in Greenville. He receiv ed his BA from Bob Jones in 196Hrad was ordained into the Gospel ministry at Momingside Baptist Chinch in Greenville in 1962. Since that time he has served pastorates in Alabama and in Burnsville, N. C. Reeve And Painter Debat Duo-harpsichordists Eve Lynne Joan Reeve and Temple Painter made their Philadelphia, Pa. , debut as a team to a full house on May 23, playing on matched harpsichords recently made for them by John Challis of New York City. Miss Reeve will be heard in concert in Yancey County this summer, and Mr. Painter plans a Burnsville concert in July un der the auspices of Music In The Mountains.
