Jel ley’s sister, Mrs. Robert Wells in Asheville overtheweekend. * Miss Nancy Randolph,daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Ran dolph of Bald Creek, has en tered WCU at Cullowee,N. C. as a freshman. * Mr. and Mis. Kit Jackson cf Louisville, Ky. are visiting at the Nu Wray Inn. Mr. Jack son is a former resident here. * Mrs. Everett Wallis from Prinston,N. J. is visiting her sister, Mis. W.A. Y. Sargent and Dr. Sargent. * Jimmy Ray has enter e d WCU at Cullowee where he is a freshman. * Mr. and Mrs. Norris Hoyle of Newton were in town on Saturday visiting friends. * Mrs. Ruby Goodin of San Francisco, California is visi - ting her brother and sister,Ms. Troy Ray and Cecil Higgins. * Mrs. John E. Cahill and children of Gaithersburg, Md. are visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lum Clevenger. Mr. Cahill will j oin her this week for a visit before returning to their home. * Jerry Clevenger has re turned to Carson Newman Col lege in Jefferson City, Tenn. where he will be a junior. * Mrs. Mamie Green of Ba kers ville visited relatives in town over the weekend. * Mr. Andrew Edwards has re turned home from Henderson - ville after spending a week visiting his daughters, Mrs. Ben Riddle and Mrs. Foch Pate. * Mr. and Mis. Richaidßuch anan and family have recently moved to Burnsville from Penn sylvania. He is now pastor of Faith Fellowship Baptist Church. * Mis. Roy King is visiting her son, Steve King, and his wife and new grandchild in Omaha, Nebraska. * Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gross man and daughter, Brenda Lee, children of Mr. and Mis. R. L. Hensley of Bald Creek, visited at the home of Mr. PaulPompa and Mr. Paul Chayefsky,presi dent of Thick-Rite Industries, New York City. A new indus try is being planned by these gentlemen in conjunction with Mr. Jack Morgan of Asheville, with outlets in Buncombe and Yancey County. Brenda Lee saw Chinatown and the Little Italy section of New York for the first time. * Mr. and Mrs. Version O ’ Bryan from Miami and Mr. O'Bryon's mother from New York visited with Mr. and Ms Paul Young over the weekend. * Katherine Robinson from Burnsville is home fromHsfinn Valley Community Hospital in Kingsport where she underwent surgery. She would like to thank everyone for their thcqsjit fulness and kindness. * Mrs. L. Doniese Herb and daughter, Wanda, were the guests of Mis. Herb's Mr. and Mrs. Finley Johnson of Route 4, Burnsville from August 19-25 when Wanda re turned to school. After accompanying Wan da to Southern Missionary Col lege , Collegedale, T ennessee, Mrs. Herb returned to visit Mr. and Mrs. Johnson until September 8. James T. Johnson, State Far mers Home Administration Di rector, announced that the two day workshop for the superviso ry personnel was on credit aail r~ able to farmers through the agency. Johnson and his staff inclu ded in their discussion r e cent authority given the agency to provide farmers with credit for establishing nonfarm- busin e ss enterprises. Johnson stated that many farmers have recently re ceived this type of credit for building and equipping cabinet shops, upholstery shops, gara ges, trailer courts, barber and similar business enterprise. The agency now also has authority to provide credit to farmers to convert their farm enterprises to recreational en terprises. Also discussed in this meet ing was the concern of the agency about \he substant ia 1 production losses that so me farmers have suffered as a re sult of hailstorms and drought We yangey record this summer and the credit available to assist them.
