This was fdjr/ the school board to pass a' re solution stating that if the bond issue failed to the $338,000 of Yancey County funds now lying in Raleigh would be used to build Burnsville a new ele mentary school. This sugges tion brought forth the on ly laugh of the evening. The possibility of forming an educational advisory com mittee of respected fair-minefed citizens fiom all parts of the county was discussed at both meetings. This committee shoiid recommend a plan for the greatest benefit of r —The drfttfe .counlyV * of having a definite and speci fic plan for the development of our schools was stressed by se veral of the speakers. Failure to have such a plan, they sta ted, would imperil the bond election. As a possible means of pro viding the finances to prevent the closing of the Burnsville school, the sale of Oak Crest school was discussed. The school board, at a called meet ing, passed a resolution to ad vertise for bids for that proper ty no longer used for school purposes.
