BOND ORDER AUTHORIZING
THE ISSUANCE OF $950,000
SCHOOL BONDS OF THE COUN
TY OF YANCEY.
WHEREAS, the County
Board of Education has deter
mined that existing school
plant facilities in the Yancey
County School Administrative
Unit are not adequate for the
maintenance of public schools
for the nine months' school
term prescribed by law, and
has requested the Board of Com
missioners to provide the sum
of $950,000 to finance addi
tional school plant facilities
such as are described in Sec -
tion 1 of this Bond order and
which said County Board of
Education has determined are
necessary to enable the County
of Yancey, as an administra -
tive agency of the public rohaol
system of the State of North
Carolina, to maintain public
schools in the Yancey County
Administrative Unit for the
nine months' school term pre
scribed by law;
NOW,THEREFORE,

of Yancey, as follows:
Section 1. The Board of
Commissioners of the County
of Yancey has ascertained and
hereby determines that it is
necessary to erect in the Yan
cey County School Administra
tive Unit several new build fags
to be used as school houses,
school garages, physical edu
cation and vocational educa -
don buildings, teacherages and
lunchrooms and other school
plant facilities, and to recon
struct and enlarge, by the ereo
tion of additions, existing
buildings located in such unit
and used for such purposes,and

to acquire land, furnishings
and equipment necessary for
such new or reconstructed or
enlarged buildings in order to
enable the County of Yancey,
as an administrative agency of
the public school system of the
State of North Carolina to
maintain public schools in said
school administrative unit for
the nine months' school term
prescribed by law, and that it
will be necessary to expend for
such purposes not less than
$950,000, in addition to other
moneys which have been made
available therefor.
Section 2. In order to raise
the money required to finance
the cost of erecting said new
school buildings and of recon
structing and of enlarging, by
the erection of additions, said
existing buildings, and of ac
quiring land and furnishings and
equipment necessary for such
new and reconstructed and en
larged buildings, bonds of the
County of Yancey are hereby
authorized and shall be issued,
pursuant to The County Finance
Act of North Carolina. The
maximum aggregate principal
amount of said bonds authoriz -
ed by this Bond Order shall be
Nine Hundred Fifty Thousand
Dollars ($950,000).
Section 3. A tax sufficient
to pay the principal of and in
terest on said bonds when due
shall be annually levied and
collected.
Section 4. A statement of
the County debt of the County
of Yancey has been filed with
the Clerk of the Board of Com
missioneis of said County and
is open to public inspection.
Section 5. This bond order
shall take effect when approv
ed by the voters of the County
at an election as provided in
said act.
The foregoing Bond Order
has been introduced and a swim
statement has been filed under
The County Finance Act,show
ing the assessed valuation of
the County to be $27,000,000.
