Cane Ri ver is also well represented in all-conference: Susan Hensley Voice Recital Susan Hensley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Flay Hensley of Burnsville, gave a senior voice recital last Friday at Man Hill College as part of her require ments for a music degree. Her program included se lections by Donizetti, Virgil Thompson, Duparc and Leo nard Bernstein. She was ac companied by Michael Rick man of Asheville on the piano and organ. Mbs Edwards explained how various foods help make healthy teeth and explained how to bnah proper ly to aid in tooth care. Then on February 16, Mbs Carole Pyle helped the mem bers in a sewing workshop. The girls began the project, "The ABC's of Sewing" by covering sewing boxes with contact pa per and starting on wrist pin - cushions. At the next workshop which followed the regular meeting March 9, the girls fi nished their pincushions and began making potholders. An important objecthe was achieved when the club became officially charted in January. The club members all went skating on Friday, February 26. Some of the girls could already skate, three of them 1 e amed to skate, and some enjoyed watching, but all had a good time.
