"*") rggjy ■** ■ l NORMAN GOOD Norman Good, 47, died In a Bismarck hospital on Sunday, April 11. He had been in ill health for 11 years. Surviving are his wife,Ruth of Culbertson; three sons, Al bert and Norman Good, Jr. of the family home at Culbert - son, and Charles Good of Burns ville, N.C.; four daughters, Zadena and Norma Fay Good of the home, Mrs. Jeanette Riddle and Mrs. Dianne Ma ney, both of Mars Hill; one brother, James Good of Luray, Va.; two sisters, Mrs. Gale Gad of Luray and Mrs. Christine Orencie of Maryland; and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. 15, at Fulkerson Chapel in Sfdney, Montana. MACK BUCHANAN Mack Buchanan, 65, of Green Mountain Route 1, died Monday evening in a Spruce Pine hospital after a long ill ness. NANCY EDWARDS Mrs. Nancy Adkins Edwards, 75, formerly of Burnsville,died in a Johnson City, Tennessee, hospital Saturday morning. She was a native of Yancey County and the widow of John Wesley Edwards. Surviving are three daugh ters, Mrs. H.L.Linville of Johnson City, Tenn., with whom she made her ho me, Mrs. Leroy Tillman of Salisbury,M<i, and Mrs. Boyd Ayers of Swan - janoa; three sons, Lloyd of Char lotte, Furman of Brooklyn, N. BENNY LEE SCOTT Benny Lee Scott, 10- day old son of Wade and Bernice Miller Scott of Burnsville Rt. 5, died Friday morning at the home. Surviving in addition to the parents are two brothers, Jeff rey and Ronald Scott of the home; the paternal grandpar - ents, Noah and Glennis Scott of Burnsville Rt. 3; and the maternal grandparents, Mr.and Mrs. Tom Miller of Burnsville, Route 5. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in Liber ty Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. Rev. Shelby Carroll officiated and burial was in Cairoway Cemetery. nancy mcmahan Mrs. Nancy Jane McMahan, 91, of the Pensacola Section of Yancey County, died Tuesday in a Burnsville hospital. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Bertha Atkins of Pensa - cola; five stepdaughters, Mrs. Lena Ray of Burnsville, Mrs. Hazel Shook of Asheville, Mrs. Ollie Rush of New BuffaloyMich. and Mrs. Rosemary Rhodes and Mrs. Ethel McMahan of Mor ganton; five stepsons, Camp of Burnsville, Vonno of Pensa cola, Futchel of Swannanoa, latt of Spruce Pine and Lon McMahan of Mars Hill; six grandchildren, 11 great grand children and five great -great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p. m. Thursday in Pen sacola Free Will Bsptist Church. Revs. Horace Poole, J.D.Price and Harold Bennett officiated and burial was in Atkins Ceme tery. LORA JOHNSON Mrs. Lora Johnson, 73, of the Swiss Community, died in a local hospital on Sunday night after a short illness. She was the wife of the late Andy Johnson who died in 1954. Surviving are two sons,Kye of Burnsville Route 3, and Charles Johnson of Cumber - land, Wisconsin; one sister; Mrs. Doshia Ponder of Mars Hill; one brother, Jay Tomber lin of Burnsville Route 3; two stepsons, Molt Johnson of John son City, Tenn. and Milt John son of Burnsville; and 9 grand children. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2:00 p. m. in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Rev. M, H. Kendall officiated and burial was in the Swiss Ce metery.
