Many instructors are available within the squadron, and others will be found when the need arises. The name "Mountain Wil derness Composite Squadron " was unanimously adopted at the first meeting. Appointed Commanding Of ficer was Taylor O. Teague III; Deputy Commander, Ray '.fcnce Miller; Deputy Commancferof Cadets, Robert C. Me Phee; Tom J. Wilson is Operations Of ficer; J. E. Wilson, Communica tions Officer; Mary A. Director Administrative Ser vices; Franklin S. Fagan, Train ing Officer; Edward A. Yuziuk, Information Officer, Benjamin Wilson, Supply Officer. Other members of the CAP Squadron are Sanford Gardner, Jhck Braswell, Fred Lawrence, A world traveler, Evange list White has preached in every major country in the world including the Soviet Union. He is President of the Bob White Evangelistic Asso - ciation, Underground Mission and Anti-Communist Crusade in High Schools and Colleges. Mr. White travels over 100,000 miles a year in Amer ica, speaking in churches, in high schools and colleges,and also appearing on television and radio stations across the natron. Hermit Bank, Carolyn Yuziuk, Bobby Young, Margaret Rid dle, Dean Pen land, and Dr. Ransom. An important part of the CAP Squadron are the Cadets, boys and girls between the ages of 13 and 18 who will learn the skills necessary to become full-fledged senior members by attending the weekly meetings and receivirg instruction with the senior man bers. Cadet members will not only learn important skills, but can also learn to fly using the corporate-owned aircraft of the CAP and operating with in the rules governing their activities. Several young peo ple have sent in their applica tions already, pending appro - val by Headquarters. The Mountain Wilderness Composite Squadron encourages any former members of a Civil Air Patrol squadron, or any in terested citizens who wish to take an active part in the CAP, to meet with the group Mon - day, May 31, 7:30 p. m. at the Mountain Wilderness Re creation Hall. Present members of the local CAP will attend a meeting at the Asheville Group IV Headquarters on Thursday, May 20. Livengood Aids Victim (Cont'd from page 1) their campus, were the next to stop. "I had been in the water for about 15 minutes when they came along," said Livengood. "It was so cold our hands froze to the bumper and back win dow of the car as we tried to raise it. Then when we got the car up, it tried to float away. And then when we got the guy out, he was so cold and stiff he couldn't stand up and he almost floated away, too," he added. Livengood estimated that the rescue operation took about 45 minutes. Drenched, with their clothes freezing on them, the three men, with their almcst incapacitated accident scrambled into their cars and sped toward the Swain County Hospital in Bryson City. Dr. William E. Mitchell,on call at the emergency room, said "I don't believe I eversaw anybody co lder.'' Dow ling and Baskette, students at the Uni - versity of Tennessee at Chatta nooga, and Schlegel,who was visiting them, probably would have frozen to death if help had not arrived, Mitchell said. Thawed and dried by heat ers at the hospital, and aided by a cup of hot coffee, Liven good went on to Asheville, ar riving a little later than he had expected. And Baskette, who was soak ing up to his neck through the whole ordeal, never even got a bad cold out of it.
