Taradash, as president of the Academy of Motion Pic - ture Arts and Sciences, opened and closed the Awards program. On a visit to Yancey Coun ty last week as the guest of Mr. and Mis. Milton Weiss attheir home near Burnsville, Taradash and his wife, Madeleine, en joyed the mountain scenery. "A beautiful place to write," he remarked, "I could really learn to relax here." Bluegrass Festival Planned To Aid Volunteer Fire Dept. A Blue Grass Festival will be held starting Friday, May 28 at 6:00 p. m. at Mountain Wilderness, Pensacola, N. C. with proceeds going for the Volunteer Fire Department for Pensacola Community. Bill Banks and Ron Eubanks will be M.C.'s on both days, and the featured attraction on Friday will be an Amateur Band Contest which will last until 12 midnight. First place winner will receive $100.00; the band winning second place will receive $50.00. Over 300 persons turned out for the festivities, demonstrations and food. With Mr. Harvey Carver as Master of Ceremonies, many of the people present entertain ed themselves with old timey fiddling and singing.
