PAUL DULANEY Paul Dulaney, 62, of Win ston Salem, formerly of Burns ville, died Thursday morning in a Winston-Salem hospital after a long illness. Surviving are the\ridow,Mrt Pollie Hughes Dulaney; two daughters, Mrs. Carlos Tara zano of Winston Salem and Miss Rebecca Dulaney of the home; three sons, J. D. of Marion and John and Dean Du laney of the home; the father, Jim Dulaney of Burnsville ,Rt. 2; five sisters,Mis.Belvie Hun ter and Mrs. Mary Dune an of Marion, Mrs. Dollie Whldrouft Mrs. Ruth Black and Mrs. Ford Hensley of Burnsville; six bro thers, David, Ed and James of Marion and Clyde,Lloyd and Lawrence Dulaney of Bums - ville Route 2; and three grand children. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p. m. Friday in the chapel of Holcombe Brotheis Funeral Home. Rev. J. H. Hutchins officiated and burial was in the Hughes Cemetery at Brush Creek. REV. GEORGE PARSLEY Rev. George Parsley, 87, of Newdale, a retired merchmt, died Sunday afternoon in the Spruce Pine Hospital after a long illness. Surviving are the widow, Mu Elizabeth Presnell Parsley, a daughter, Mrs. Lones Young of Newdale; four sons, Dave ,Sam, and R. C. of Burnsville Route 2 and Allen Paisley of Spruce Pine; two sisters, Mis. Frank Smith of Alburquerque,N. M. and Mrs. Ella Lloyd of Toledo, Ohio; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p. m. in Liberty Hill Baptist Church of which he was a member. Hospital after a long illness. He was a World War II ve teran and a retired brick and rock mason. Surviving in addition to his wife, Mis. Gladys P. Do vie Jane Biggs, 80, of the Pensacola Community, died unexpectedly Thursday morning in a Burnsville doc tor’s office. Surviving are the husband, Henry Biggs; two daughters, Mis. Ada Howell of Black Mountain and Mrs. Mae Spivey of Swannanoa; four sons, Roy of Pensacola, Epton of Maiden Clell of Fairview and M. C. Biggs of Asheville; and 23 grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Pensacola Free Will Baptist Church. Revs. Horace Poole and J. B. Price officiated and burial was in Ledford Ceme tery. CLARA D. BROWN Mrs. Clara Daugherty Brown, 73, of Charlotte and Boone, died last Thursday in a Greens boro hospital. Surviving are the husband, Rev. O, L. Biown of Char - lotte; five daughters, Mrs. J. R. Scoggins and Mrs. J. C. Surratt, Mrs. W.H. Brown of Greenville, N.C., Mrs.H.D. Perry Jr. of Greensboro and Mrs. W. C. Fanelty of Mechan icsburg, Pa; a son, John L» Biown of Roanoke, Virginia; 23 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Services were held Satur - day p. m. in Hawthore Lane United Methodist Church in Charlotte. Graveside services followed at 5 p. m. in Boone City Cemetery. Rev. and Mrs.Biown are form ex residents of Burnsville, Rev. Biown being pastor of Higgins Memorial Church for many years. Cattail News The Cattail Homeowners Association will kick off the season with a covered dish din ner on July sth at 6 p. m. for the Cattail residents. We are planning a series of movies on Monday nights at 7:30 p.m.—also Bingo on Wednesdays at 7:30 Friday evenings will be devoted to cards. We hope the folks at Cat tail will avail themselves of these evenings of entertain - ment and' get to know their neighbors and fellow residents. It is such a beautiful area of the world—why not enjoy every momnnt of it- *- P1 ea se come join us. The folks in our communi ty all wish Mrs. Talley — one of our longtime members, a speedy recovery—from her recent illness.
