Russell York, 42, of 29 Linden Avenue, Asheville,died in an Asheville hospital Mon day morning after a long illness. A native of Yancey County aixl a son of Mrs, Willie Kate Ray York of Burnsville and the late Thomas H. York, he re tired two years ago from Pilot Freight Carriers after 10 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Mrs.Betty Ray Hensley York; a son,Tho mas Leslie and two daughters, Misses Julia Lenora and Mary Katherine York, all of the home; two brothers, David of Burnsville and Edward B. York of Raleigh; four sisters, Misses Virginia and Lois York and Mrs. Clarence Ledford, all of Burns ville and Mrs. George Joyce of Mars Hill; and several neices and nephews. Funeral Services were held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Morris Fune r al Home. Revs. Gordon B. Hux and Hailon Ramsey officiated and burial was in Green Hills Cemetery. GENEVA FOX Mrs. Geneva Fox, 68, of the Jacks Creek Community died in a local hospital Mon day night after a long illness. She was the widow of Jennings Fox who died in 1960. Surviving are seven daugh ters, Mrs. John Black,Mrs John Evans, Mrs. Travis Me Curry, Mrs. Dennis Dellinger and Mrs. Roy Wilson, all of Burnsville, Mrs. Boyd Laws and Mis. Tony Edwards of Green Mountain; five sons, Floyd, Carl, Sylves ter, Paul and Edison Fox all of Burnsville; one sister, Mis. Funeral Services were held at 2:00 p. m. Wednesday in the Jacks Creek Baptist Church the Rev. Phillip Garland and Rev. Frank Phillips officiated and burial was in the Wilson Cemetery. HATTIE K. PHILLIPS Mrs. Hattie K. Phillips, 91, of Burnsville died in an Ashe County Hospital Monday night after a long illness. Surviving are two daugh ters, Mb. Nettie Robinson of Erwin, Term, and Mrs. Paralee Hensley of Burnsville; three sons, Riley and Clyde Phillips of Burnsville and Frank Phillips ofTrona, California; eleven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren. Funeral Services were held at 2:30 p. m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Holcombe Bro thers Funeral Home. Revs .Lee Woody and James Beaver of ficiated and burial was in the Pete Young Cemetery.
