The Rev. Billy Cline conducted the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mis. Claude Led ford of Route 1, Burnsville, The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lyda Wyatt of Route 3, Mars Hill. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a full length dress of pastel aqua, with embroidered bodice of cream chiffon. The bride's floral headdress was dusty pink carnations with white pompoms and pink streamers. Attendants were Mis. Lin da Stephens of Asheville, ma tron of honor and Mrs. Diane Bartley, bridesmaid, of Chat tanooga, Tennessee. Both were friends of the bride and wore cream Victorian street length dresses. Lyda Wyatt of Mars Hill served as best man for his son. Ushers were Danny and David Wyatt, brothers of the bridegroom. A reception was given at the church following the ce remony. Mrs. Wyatt is a graduate of Cane River High School and Tri City Beauty College, Johnson City, Tennessee. She was employed until recently at Parisienne Wig Salon. Given in marriage by her father the bride wore a sata peau gown with scalloped lace trim, Watteau chapel train and veil of silk illusion. The veil was attached to a cluster of pearls. Ray Moffitt on the arrival of a newborn daughter. Christine and James Moody from Kingsport,Tenn. came up Saturday and visi - ted Mr. and Mb. Nave Street and were supper guests. Miss Jackie Moffitt re turned in home for Christmas Holiday from Asheville where she is employed by WLOS TV. A reception followed the ceremony. The bride is a senior at East Yancey High School and plans to complete her educa tion. The bridegroom atten ded East Yancey High School and is employed at Bums - ville Mill of Mohasco. The couple will live in Burnsville Route 2. roses. A reception followed the ceremony. The bride is a senior at East Yancey High School and plans to continue her educa tion. The bridegroom attended Cane River High School and is now employed at Brans ville Mill of Mohasco. The couple will live at Route 2, Burnsville. Good hunting Donald! • Dennis Street, son of Mr. Wilson Street of Baltimore, Md. came down to make his home with Mr. Arthur Street of Buladean. He is a student at Bowman High. This will be the first Christ mas that Dennis has spent in North Carolina. • Congratulations to Mr. Zeb Buchanan of Bakeßville on his birthday, December 2nd. He was 82 yens old. Jesse Greene was broken into and ransacked by thieves Mr. Greene's mother, Mb. Lela Howell, discovered the crime. The Greenes live in California. At this writing, the culprits have not been apprehended. Mr. and Mb. Howard Gar land and children Patty aid Gary, of South Carolina, spent Christmas with Mr. and Mb. Bob McKinney. Ms. Garland is the former Faye McKinney. Mr. and Mb. Claude Ffoik man Jr. visited Ms.Ffoilmarfs mother, Ms. D. W. Walked of Johnson City, Tenn.duriig Christmas. Mr. and Mb. Cloyd Tho mas had as their guest for Christmas dinner,Mr.Richard Vinson of Bakesville. Also visiting them during the ho lidays were Mr. and Mb. Spencer Weeks and daughter of Rutherfordton. ** Tim Grindstaff has again accompanied his father,Lyda Grindstaff, on a trip. This time to Port Lavaca, and to Weslaco, Texas. C. ** Ovemite guests of Mr. and Mb. Jay Whitson during Christmas were Mr. and Ms, Ernest C. Cross and daughteß Cynthia and Cathy of John son City, Tennessee. Other guests visiting tliem during Christmas were Mr. and Mb. J. D. Bartley of Mt. Airy. Both Mb. Bartley and Mb. Cross are sisteß of Mb. Whitson. Miss Rebecca Garland, small daughter of Mr. and Mb. Sam Garland, has re turned home from Memorial Hospital in Johnson City where she was a patient. ** Visiting Mr. and Mb. Da llas Howell during the holi - days was their son, Bud How ell and family of Six Mile, S. C. Also visiting them were Mr. and Ivfcs. Brown Buchanan of Conover,N.C. Mr. and Mrs. Howell re turned with the Buchanan s to Conover for a few days visit. Mrs. Buchanan is the farmer Ruby Howell. ** Mr. and Mb. Lyda Grind staff, Gary and Tim attend ed a Howell family Christ - mas dinner on Sunday, December 26th at Newdale. Since there are eleven child ren, twenty-One grandchild ren and nine great - grand children, there was no hotm large enough to acoommo - date them all so the dinner was held in the Fellowship Hall of the Methodist Clutch. Also present was the mother of the eleven, Mb Troy Howell, and Rev. and Mb. Philip Nordstrom. ** Mb. Pansy Gage spent Christmas with Mr. and Mb. Edd Hise of Joltnson City. *3|< Mb. Mary Grindstaff served Christmas Eve dinner for her four children and their families. Also present was Mr. Charles Odom of Buladean and Charlotte.
