On the way there, the bus stopped in Virginia and the group visited the Na tural Efcidge, Monticellq and the Luray Caverns. The tour ing highlights of the week in Washington were: The Bureau of Printing and Engraving,the National Archives Building the White House, the Library of Congress, the Washington Monument, Mount Vernon, Washington Cathedral,— the Masonic Temple, the—W-ax Museum, the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials, the Ca pitol Building, Embassy Row, and Arlington National Ceme tery > where they watched the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier and alsb visited the grave site of the late President, John F. Kennedy and his two child -JJgn. Out of the seven -build ings of the Smithsonian Insti tute the group visited the Na tural History and the Space and Aeronautics Building. On Tuesday night, they went on a moonlight boat ride down the Potomac River to Mars lull Hall, a recreation center in Maryland. The group also enjoyed a trip to the zoo in _ Washington Coliseum. During their week in Washington the group stayed at the Diplomat Motor Hotel and had all their meals at the Holloway House Cafeteria. Jimmy Grindstaff caught a Brown trout 21 inches long at Loafers Glory just below the old Masters Pond Thursday evening, April 6. • Mr. Frank Mosley caught two Brown Trout in Loafers Glcry Wednesday, April 5. Mr. Troy Bryant and Mr. jimmy Grindstaff and Mr. Carol Young went to Roaring Creek on a Fox Hunt. Jimmy tool, t.vo dogs, Troy took two dogs and Carol took two dogs on the hunt. • Mr. Robert Street and Mr. Norman Airwood and Mr. Clyde Banks visited Watauga Lake Wednesday April 5 on a * fisliing trip. 0 Mrs. Edmund Gouge was —admitted to the Manorial Hospital Saturday, April 8. N 0 Mr. Kenneth Garland has been on the sick list for seve ral days with the flu. # Lissie Honeycutt was dis missed from die Memorial Hospital in Johnson City af ter staying in far two weeks . She stayed at her son's, Mr. Willie Honeycutt, in Unicoi, Tenn. for about a week, then took pneumonia fever and wys admitted back into the Memorial Hospital Thursday, April 6; - , . iW - stay was much too short. AD of the seniors wish to express tiieir deepest gratitude to Mrs. Cara Cox, Mrs. Irma Mr. Horace Cox, and Mr.Ed gav Hunter for all owing them to make the trip. Mr. and Mnws'Jay Street from Westminster, Maryland same down and visited Mr. and Mrs. Garrett Street of Spring Creek over Easter weekend. • Rev. Rose Cook and wife and son, Dallas, were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs.Mo»*- ritt Garland Sunday, Aprif $ at Fork Mountain. • Mr. and Mrs. Basil Street from Manchester, Maryland, also visited Mr. and Mrs. Garrett Street of Spring Creek over the Easter weekend, • Also Mrs. Cal Street and sons, Gale and Gene Street from Celo, N.C. visited Ma and Mrs. Garrett Street ter weekend. Beauty Shop Opening On Wednesday, April £), Mrs. Kathleen Young Moore will open Kathleen's Beauty Shop, located at her home {&> the intersection of Blue Rofck Road and Old 19E in Newdale Appointments can be made |t 675- 4159.
