The main function Os the Association is to work with the emotionally disturb - ed in the county and to carry on a follow-up program with persons released from Brough ton or other mental institute as. In addition it encourages those needing psychiatric care to visit the Mental Health Clinic which is held at th> Health Department twice monthly once with a qualified psychia trist and twice monthly with a social psychiatric worker. The psychiatrist exafnines the patient and prescribes the pro per drugs, and in some instan ces suggests hospitalization. The social worker counsels with patients and family mem bers. Drug prescriptions are taken to local pharmacies where they are filled at whole sale cost, plus prescription charge, thereby saving the pa tient a considerable amount of money. / VICA Clubs Launch Drive (Cont’d from page 1) last week at which more than a thousand dollars was raised for the Girls Haven building fund. Dunn, Director of the North Carolina SBL He praised the work of Boys Home at Lake Waccamav, and emphasized the need far a comparable home for girls. Speaking in a similar vein, Judge Edwin S.
