King of Greensboro, S.C. and grandson of Thelma King of Burnsville, has entered the U.S. Army under the Army's Unit Choice Option, picking the 82nd Airborne Division.He was stationed at Ft. Ray, Sr. will be honored by their family with an Open House celebration on Sunday, August 13, from 2:00 until 5:00 p. m. in observance of their Golden Wed ding Anniversary. Mr.-and Mrs. Ray were married August 16, 1922 and are the parents of three children, Mrs. David (Louise) Roberts of Chapel Hill; Charles Elbert of Burnsville, and Horace Daniel Jr. who died in 1969. The bride is the daughter of Mr, and Mrs. G„ D. Robinson; the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Shephard of Rt. 3, Burnsville. The bride, who wore a blue silk dress for her wedding, will be a senior at Cane River this year. The groom is employed at Burlington Mills.
