She was a native of Yancey County and the daughter of , Mrs. Francis Bailey Hughes of , Micaville and the late Fonze * Hughe*. , In addition to the mother she is survived by the husband Augustine Azel, a daughter, { Sandra Azel and two sons,Mich- ael and Alex Azel, all of Mar ristown; six sisters, Mrs. Floyd Wilson of Micaville, Mrs. Ray mond Robinson of Burnsville, a Mrs. Bill Moore of Stanley, N. j C., Mrs. Walker Thomas, Mrs. j Harold Rhyne and Mrs. Bobby Burleson of Spruce Pine; eight r brothers, Ralph Hughes of Mid dletown, Conn., Charles and Michael'Hughes of Burnsville, Max, Jack, Leroy and Rodney Hughes of Micaville and Larry Hughes of Brevard. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home. Revs. Petzer M. Lyons m and Rev. Frances Radford officiated and burial was in the Young Cemetery. GENEVA JONES Mrs. Geneva Jones, 76, of Micaville died Thursday after? noon in a Burnsville hospital af ter a short Illness. Surviving are the husband, Cranford Jones; two daughters, Mrs. Willie Bert Robinson of Asheville and Mrs. Liddie Snel son of Burnsville Route 2; one son, James H. Jones,of Bums - ville Route 2; one brother, Gai ther Carroll of Burnsville Rt. 2; 16 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p. in. Sunday in the Bowditch Union Church. Rev. Frances Radford officiated asd burial was in the Bowditch Ce metery. PHOEBE MCKINNEY Mrs. Phoebe McKinney, 87, of Green Mountain, died Tues day evening in Melbourne, Fla. She was a native of Y a a c e y County and the widow of Tho mas McKinney who died in 1946. Mrs, McKinney had been in Florida for the past three yean. She is survived by a daugh ter, Mb, John Feathen of Eau Gallie, Florida; three sons, Carl McKinney of Green Moun tain, Woodrow McKinney of Satellite Beach, Florida and Earl J. McKinney of Melbourne, Florida; eleven grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren and four gTeat-great grand - children.
