SCALLOPED POTATOES (Doris Hunter) 4 cups potatoes (Diced) 2 pimento (diced) Salt and pepper 1/2 green pepper *1 1/2 cup medium white sauce 1/2 cup grated cheese Cook potatoes 5 minutes, Drain. Add green pepper and pimento. Season to taste. Pour into well-oiled baking dish. Co ver with white sauce to which cheese has been added. Bake 350 degrees for 50 minutes. WHITE SAUCE 2 tblsp. margarine 3 tblsp. flour 1/3 tsp. salt 1 1/2 cup milk Melt hutter in saucepan. Blend in flour until smooth. Add salt. Add milk slowly, stirring rapidly. Bring to boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat. Cook 1 minute stiiTing ■constantly. Sprinkle over its 1 tsp. celery seed; 1 tsp. salt. Place ■ sliced anions on top. Bofl 1/2 cup oil, 1/2 cup vinegar and 1/2 cup sugar. Pour over vege tables and cover. Let set in refrigerator 24 hours. Remove onions. Slaw will keep several days. 1-2-3-4-5 DESSERT (Donna McLain) 1 can crushed pineapple 1 can cherry pie filling 1 yellow cake mix 1 cup chopped nuts (optional) t stick butter *_ Butter pan and pour in one can crushed pineapple— Add cherry pie filling. Sprinkle one * box cake mix (dry) over cher - ries and pineapple. Cut butter in small squares and lay on top. Sprinkle with nits (if desired). Spoon around a bit but do not stir. Bake at 350 degrees until slightly brown. Serve with scoop of ice cream.
