It was held at Mrs. Jim Anglin’s residence on Friday night. * Mr. and Mrs. David Gillespie and family of Paints ville, Ky. spent Thanksgiving with Mr. and Mrs. Byrd Gillespie. * Drs. David and Carolyn Cort made a business trip to Greensboro, N.C. last week. * Misses Marilyn Laughrun, Janice Hunter, Dianne Styles • and Sandra Norris who a .tend ASU at Boone spent the weekend at home and to be in the Biggerstaff-Caviness wed ding. Ronnie Biggerstaff of Lees Mcßae College in Banner Elk spent the week end at home. * Mr. and M Noble Laughrun of Montgomery, Ala. spent Thanksgiving with Mr. Laughrun’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ike Laughrun. 4 Mrs. Coy Sparks spent several days with her mother, Fairview Report Mrs. Rosa Ballew and Mrs. Catherine Grindstaff have been gone for several days visiting their sisters who live in Morganton, also one in Dysartville, N.C. She spent two weeks and came back with her brother, Russell and family who spent a week here with his relatives. Mrs. Santa To Visit Library The Mrs. Santa is coming to town! She will arrive at the Yancey County Public Library in Burnsville on Monday, December 16 at 10:00 a.m. Mrs. Santa invites all of her pre-school friends (ages 4 to 6) to visit with her at this very special Christmas Party. Boosters To Hold Meeting East Yancey will have a Booster Club Meeting at 7:00 p.m. December 11 at the East Yancey High School. It is urgent that every parent of the athletes be there! County Council To Elect Officers The annual meeting for the electk n of officers of tiie Yancey C . lty Council will be held Monday, December 16, at 7:00 p.m. in Room 3, Yancey County Courthouse, Burnsville. The nominating commit tee will place in nomination a slate of officers to serve as Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer of the Council during the next year. Other nominations for these offices will be received from the floor during the meeting. Other Council busi ness will also be conducted during this meeting. The public is invited and encouraged to attend. Repre sentatives from all communi ties, agencies and other interested groups of the County (both public and private) are particularly en couraged to attend this meeting. Your help is needed in finding better solutions to many of todays needs and problems.
