ngi^ Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Schoenbaum from Atlanta, Georgia were visiting in Windom last weekend. Mr. Schoenbaum is owner of several Wendy’s Quick Food Service Restaurants in Ala bama, Georgia and Tennes see. During their visit here they enjoyed viewing fall color in the mountains, horseback riding, and hiking. • Mr. and Mrs. Welsey Riddle with their family and grandchildren had a family reunion at Cape Hatteras, N.C. recently. Those attend ing were Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Young of Burnsville, Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton Cooper and two children of Jacksonville, N.C. and Mr. and Mrs. Larry Fox of Newport News, Va. * Mrs. Jim Young, who is Burnsville’s librarian, is a patient in St. Joseph’s Hospi tal for treatment. • Mr. and Mrs. O.W. Brown who spent the summer at their home on Phillip’s Knob were ready to return to their Florida home for the winter. The day before the departure Mr. Brown, walking in the yard, stepped in a hole covered with leaves and broke his leg. He is now recupera ting in Memorial Mission Hospital. * Frank Moody and Alec Mironenko are in Akron, Ohio attending a 10-day art show. * Miss Mary Louise Wray is visiting her father Rush T. Wray for several days. She is attending school at St. Mary’s High School in Raleigh, N.C. * Miss Frances Coletta of St. Louis, Mo. spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. P.C. Coletta. Mr. Coletta returned home from the hospital Saturday after a two weeks stay for treatment. Mr. and Mrs. L.V. Pollard have returned to Pompano Beach, Florida after spending the summer in Burnsville. « Ernest Pierce and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Harwell of Raleigh, N.C. were the overnight guests of Mrs. Annie Bennett on Thursday night. • Mr. and Mrs. Bill Wray of Sanford, Florida are visiting Mrs. Annie Bennett and Rush Wray at the Nu Wray Inn. * Mrs. Zack Newton and family of Atlanta, Ga. spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Cooper. * Mrs. Paul Falls, Mrs. John Bennett, Mrs. Troy Ray, Mrs. Mary King, Mrs. Trix McClelland, Mrs. Neva Re naldo, Miss Zoe Young, Mrs. Grace Grassmuck, Mrs. Tessa Swink, Mrs. Nelle Bennett and Mrs. W.A.Y. Reverend Jim my Upton officiated. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Collins McKin ney and the late Arthur Huskins, attended Southeast ern Beauty College in Char lotte. She is owner-operator of Selinda’s Beauty Salon. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jeter Boone of Bakersville. He attended Bera College and is employed by Northwestern Bank in North Wilkesboro. The bride was given in marriage by her stepfather. She wore a long gown of silk organza accented with French Chantilly lace sprinkled with seed pearls and crystal pleating ruffled flounce hem line that fell to a chapel length train. She wore a tiered veil of silk illusion edged in match ing lace attached to a Camelot cap. Mrs. Donna Huskins of Macon, Georgia was her sister-in-law’s matron of honor. She wore a gown of green satin with an overskirt of pink and green floral chiffon with a matching picture hat. She carried a basket of pink straw flowers. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carroll R. Best of Canton, N.C. and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. S.D. McKinney, Jr. of Burnsville. Tty? bride was given in marriage by her father. Her gown, made by her aunt, Mrs. Russell Robinson, was made of white satin with an overlay of white miramist chiffon, with a square neckline and long cuffed sleeves. The empire waistline fell in a chapel length train. French imported lact accented the neck, sleeves, waist and train. Her waistlength veil of illusion was attached to a matching headpiece. She car ried a bouquet of white roses, pink carnations and ivy. Mrs. Melvin Smathers of Canton was matron of honor. Her dress was of light blue polyester crepe with a square neckline and long full sleeves. The empire waistline was accented with pink velvet ribbon. Miss Amy Smathers of Canton was a miniature bride. She carried two long stemmed red roses, which the bride presented to her mother and the groom’s mother as she entered the church. Miss Hope Price of Canton was flower girl. Master Martin tedford of Burnsville was ring bearer. Mr. S.D. McKinney, Jr. served as his son’s best man. Ushers were Ronnie Best, brother of the bride, Joy Byers of Canton, Darrell Boone and Jimmy Norris of Burnsville, and Carroll Cook, who was junior usher. The brides book was kept by Mrs. Dennis Huskins and scrolls were dispersed by Miss Jane Rathbone. A reception followed at the church. Assisting were Mrs. Boyd Rathbone, Mrs. Benny Cook, Mrs. Robert Cole, Mrs. Guy Boone, Sabra Phillips, and Mrs. Ronald Howell. The bride’s mother chose a floor length gown of pink polyester. The bride is a graduate of Pisgah High School and ' Haywood Technical Institute * with an Applied Science Degree in Medical Office t Assistant. The bridegroom is • a graduate of East Yancey High School and Haywood J Technical Institute, with an l Applied Science Degree in Forest Management.
