Over popula tions of deer can ruin forest reproduction. Deer will often damage seedlingsand sprouts by heavy bWwsing thus ruining this food source for future use. Consequently when this natural food source fails, an overpopulated herd may turn to agriculture crops resulting in high crop depre dation. In addition excessive deer on a given range must compete for the all important mast crop. When the mast crop is expended, there is less food for turkey, grouse, bear, raccoon, squirrel and other species. Sites are on game lands with surrounding private farm lands. The total number of debr to be released is approximately fifty.
