Burnsville Junior Beta Club Initiates New Members
The Junior Beta Club at Burnsville Elementary School held their
Induction ceremony for their new members on March 3, 1976. Principal of
the school, Larry Howell, called the meeting to order. The Spring Ceremony
was highlighted by speeches from the club officers and old members:
President Anne Hunter, Vice-President Davis Gillespie, Treasurer Gall
Butner, Secretary Pat Hardy, Deborah Black, Rebecca Silver, Roger

Anne Hunter. Miss Rhonda Peterson presented the new members with
their credentials.
The following day the initiation of the new Beta Club members was held.
The new members were good sports considering the Induction dress ranged
from girls dressing like babies to boys dressing like girls. The new members
include Tonya Allen, Fonda Bennett, Joy Bennett, Michelle Flow, Lisa

Groundbreaking For Church Building
Sunday, March 7, at 12 o’clock noon, groundbreaking ceremonies were conducted for the ne
Church of God of Prophecy sanctuary by Rev. David Russell, Pastor. The church will be bui
adjacent to the parsonage on Meadow Road, Burnsville, where services are presently bein
conducted. The 24-member congregation has been holding many types of fund-raising actlvltic
for the church building fund during recent years, and construction will hopefully begin this week
weather permits. “Many people have promised to donate labor or money when we are ready I
build,” said Rev. Russell. “We will be very grateful for any help offered.”
Manager of Ingles Supermarket Charlie Burnette has offered to donate 50c towards the churc
building for every SIOO worth of Ingles cash register tapes. A box will be left at the supermarki
door*to collect the tapes from shoppers as they leave. Anyone who forgets to leave their grocer
tape, call Mrs. Russell at 682-2769 and she will pick them up.
