Fox who died in 1945. she is the mother of twelve children of which 8 survive. She has 59 grandchildren and 16 great great grandchildren. Mrs. Fox is herself the youngest of nine children and the only one surviving. Her oldest brother, Sam M. Bennett lived 101 years and 10 months. Harding and the late Hughie Harding of Micaville, N.C. was recei*tly promoted to his present grade while serving on a Special Assignment with HQ USAF, Office of the Secretary of the Air Force, The Pentagon, Washington, D.C. MSgt Harding has served in the U.S. Air Force for 14 years and has been awarded the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal and four Air Force Commendation Medals. Batista, 42, of Powell, Tn., died Sunday from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was a native of Puerto Rico and served 16 years in the U.S. Air Force. He served in the New York National Guard from 1966 to 1968. He was a graduate of the Asheville- Buncombe Technical Institute and had been employed as an Engineering Associate with TVA in Knoxville for the past six years. He was a represen tative of the TVA Engineering Association and was an active member of the Tennessee Air National Guard. I Surviving are the wife, Mrs. Nancy Jarrett Batista, daughter of Mrs. Virginia Jarrett and the late Arthur Jarrett of Burnsville; two sons, Jacinto A. Batista Jr. and Miguel Angel Batista. Also surviving are the father, two brothers and five sisters of Puerto Rico. Prayer services were held at Rose’s Funeral Home in Knoxville at 7:30 p.m. Tues day. Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Ghost Catholic Church with Father Wiatt Funk officiating. Following a funer al procession from Knoxville to Burnsville, services were also held at 2 p.m. Wednes day at the First Presbyterian Church, Burnsville, with Rev. Patrick Hardy officiating.
