talented senior citizen from
Little Creek, has written a
poem about “The Hotline”:
As 1 sit here, in the cold, all
alone
With nothing for company but
my telephone,
My fire ain’t burning like It
should.
Because I’m about “plumb”
out of wood.
Call the Hotline!
1 woke up this morning,
feeling real sick,
Like I needed to get to the
doctor’s office quick.
No time to waste on how to
get that far.
Won’t someone please bring a
car?
Call the Hotline!
The mailman brought a bunch
of mall today.

Cal! the Hotline!
My refrigerator is empty of

I wonder if someone passing a

Pick up some groceries to

Call the Hotline!
I ain’t able to wash this basket

Or go to the laundromat,

Would somebody wash one

For a handicapped lonesome
