\Fox And Davis Are '' ■ ■* 4 ' \United In Marriage I m I xMiss Lisa Kay Fox of 'Burnsville and Gordon Earl Davis of Washington, N.C., exchanged wedding vows at noon Saturday, April 17, in fcirst Baptist Church, Burns ville. The Rev. Richard Muri performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Amey C. Fox of Burnsville. She received jjer B.A. degree in English fro..? Mars Hill College in December. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles L. Davis as Fayetteville. He received his B.S. degree in biology from Mars Hill College in 1974. He is employed in the Washington School System. Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attired in a gown of candlelight seta soie, peau d’ange trimmed in venise lace. The lace edged the sculptured horseshoe neckline with venise motifs on the high rise bodice and fitted long sleeves. The full circular skirt and attached train were edged with venise trim. The fingertip veil was edged in matching lace. ; Mrs. MicTiael D. Orr of Burnsville, sister of the bride, Served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Boyd Howell of Morganton, Mrs. Michael Good of Rossville, Ga., Miss Janice Hunter of Burnsville and Miss Terry Foster of Wilkesboro. The brides attendants all wore silk garden print gowns with empire styling and puffed sleeves and ribbons in their bair. Rogers of Candler, N.C., became the bride of Robert Franklin Phillips, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Phillips of Route 3, Burnsville in a wedding ceremony performed at White Rock Baptist Church in Candler on April 17 at one o'clock p.m. Rev. Leslie Norman Schofield 111 per formed the ceremony. The bride is employed at American Enka Nylon Textile Lab. and the groom is employed at American Enka Company, Nylon Heavy Den ier Drawtwisting. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor length gown of polyester dotted swiss with Victorian neckline and long sleeves of lace and tulle. A chapel length train of tierred Alencon lace and tulle attached to an alencon lace band. The dress was made by the bride’s aunt, tyrs. Wilburn C. Buchanan. Qie bride carried a bouquet of red £pses and lily of the valley. a Matron of honor was Mrs. Wilburn Buchanan, aunt of son’s best man. Ushers were Richen Brame of Kinston, David Butts of Raleigh, Ralph Braswell of Durham and J.C. Meeks, Jr. of Wilson, N.C. Miss Christine Miller and Mr. Joey Robertson^were soloists at the ceremony and Mr. Charlie Boone was organist. Honorary bridesmaids were Miss Davis of Griffton, N.C. and Misses Jayne and Kim Moore of Jacksonville, N.C., cousins of the bridegroom. A reception followed the ceremony in the fellowship hall at the church. Tho couple will reside in Washington, North Carolina. The bridegroom’s parents entertained with a rehearsal dinner at Oakwood Restaur ant in Spruce Pine on Friday evening, April 16. Out-of-town guests at tending the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. George Davis and son, Marc of Griffton; Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Moore of Jacksonville; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Braswell of Durham; Miss Mahmette Gerrans of Kinston, N.C.; Miss LaDonna Bernard of Cary, N.C.; David Noble and Jeff Kennedy of Kinston; Mr. and Mrs. H.M. Millander of Wilson; and Miss Monica Harris of Kin ston; Mr. and Mrs. E.Y. Fox of Spartanburg, S.C.; Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Fox of Femandina Beach, Florida; Mr. and Mrs. Alex Helms and sons. Robert, William and Marian of Salem, Va.; Mr. and Mrs. Thomas White and daughter, Ceslie and Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Presnell of Asheville; Mrs. Joe Denny of South Carolina. M. the bride, of Candler, N.C. She wore a floor length gown of burgandy ,red polyester with a bolera jacket of Alencon lace. She carried a single long-stemmed white mum. Mr. Frank Phillips served as his son's best man. Ushers were Mr. Wilburn C. Buchan an of Candler and Mr. Michael Silvers of Burnsville, North Carolina. Miss Kathy Lynn Warren of Candler was organist; Mrs. David Trull of Arden, N.C. directed the wedding. The mother wore beige polyester whipped cream with embossed pink and white flowers, and a cot'sage of pink carnations. The groom’s mother wore pink polyester whipped cream with blue and white embossed flowers, and a corsage of blue carnations. Mrs. J.R. Medfors and Mrs. Bill Plemmons, both of Candler, served at the recep tion following the ceremony. After a wedding trip to Florida, the newlywed couple will live in Bear Creek Apartments in West Ashe ville.
