Nutritional Program Aide Now is the time to begin our gardens, and the place to begin is with a well-thought plan. Careful planning will lessen the work of gardening, and increase the returns. The first consideration should be to group crops according to the space they require. Lettuce, radishes, betts, etc, which require little space, should be grouped together. Beans, com, pota toes, etc. which need lots of room, should be in a separate area. Another consideration is the type of equipment which will be used. A garden which is to be worked with hand tools may be planted much closer than one which is to be worked with power equip ment. Tall growing crops should be planted where they will not shade crops which require full sun. Such natural features as slope of the land, nearness of trees, and the direction of rows will govern the location of different crops. A little advance work in planning out a garden will result in increased enjoyment and higher yields.
