WATERGATE CAKE 1 pkg. White cake mix V* cup cooking oil 3 eggs 1 cup of 7-Up or club soda 1 pkg. (3 oz.) pistachio instant pudding 1 cup chopped pecans Vi cup coconut Combine ingredients m order given-mix well. Pour into greased and floured 9” x 13” pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. COVER UP ICING 2 envelopes (3 oz. each) whipped topping (dry) IV. cup milk 1 (3 oz.) pkg. pistachio Instant Pudding Vi cup coconut V* cup chopped pecans i/ 3 Combine topping mix, milk and pudding-beat until thick-spread on cake and sprinkle coconut and pecans. WATERGATE SALAD 9 oz. cool whip 1 pkg. Royal Instant pistachio pudding Mix pudding dry into cool whip and set aside. In a large bowl place these ingredients: 1 can (1 1b.4 oz.) crushed pineapple with juice Vi cup nuts-chopped 1 cup miniature marshmal lows Stir in cool whip mix and let stand in refrigerator for several hours or overnight. TOPSY TURVY PEACH PUDDING Pudding Part- Vi cup sugar 1 cup flour 2 tsp. baking powder Vi tsp. salt Vi cup milk 2 cups diced peaches Sift sugar, flour, baking powder, salt together in mixing bowl. Add milk and peaches and stir lightly to mix. Then spread in a well greased 8” square pan. TOPPING FOR PEACH PUDDING Vi cup sugar Vi cup brown sugar 1 tblsp. butter 2 cups warm water V* tsp. nutmeg Combine these ingredi ents in sauce pan. Heat to boiling stirring to dissolve sugars. Pour oyer dough in pan. Bake at 400 degrees about 45 minutes. Serve warm. Annual Slowpitch Contest Slated The Eleventh Annual Mens Slowpitch Softball Tour nament will be held at the Drexel Community Center Athletic Field beginning Au gust 20, 1976. This is an opportunity for teams to find out how they stack up with teams outside their league. Teams interested in parti cipating in the Tournament should contact “Pick” Big gerstaff, Drexel Community Center, P.O. Box 818, Drexel, N.C. 28619 (704) 437-3520 for information and application. Spruce Pine, N.C. died August 8, at the Spruce Pine Hospital. Born in Chicago, he lived in that area until 1970 when he and his wife moved to their present home. He attended University High School,- Chicago, graduated from the University of Chicago, and did graduate work at the Massa chusetts Institute of Techno logy, Boston. At the time of his retirement Mr. Garcia was president of Allen & Garcia, Mining Engineers. He was a member of The University Club of Chicago, Exmoor Country Club, Highland Park, Illinois, and of Rotary Inter national. Mr. Garcia had been a member of the Music in the Dean’s List Students Four Burnsville students have been named io the dean’s list of honor students for spring quarter at Western Carolina University.
