At this recent student assembly in the amphitheatre at Mountain Heritage High Report Change In Income v Last month in the U.S. over 250,000 people who get supplemental security income (SSI) failed to report changes in circumstances that may affect SSI payments, accord ing to Thomas L. Johnson, Field Representative in the Asheville Social Security Of fice. Mr. Johnson said that studies show that people most often fail to report: (1) a move or a change in mailing address or living arrange ments, (2) an increase or decrease in income (no matter where it comes from), (3) help from relative]! or friends who pay utilities or provide free housing, (4) ownership of savings accounts or joint bank accounts that exceed $1,500 for an individual or $2,250 for a couple. The SSI program makes monthly payments to people with little or no income and limited resources who are 65 or over or blind or disabled. Reports can be made to any social security office by phone, mail or in person. An e*Uy report allows the office to make any necessary ad justments in payments with out delay. ' the present program are wrestling and girls softball. Wrestling will be coached by Ernie Hughes, while Beth Thomasson will coach girls softball. The Athletic D partment hopes to expand the program more extensively next year. *** SEASON STARTS WITH DEFEAT By Karen Robinson Mountain Heritage Cou gars started their football season against Erwin War riors Saturday night, Septem ber 4, at North Buncombe High School.
