! 1 !#| | I Cattail Creek News ■ I BY MRS.NEVA RENALDu Cattail Correspondent We have certainly seen the folks arriving this week with plenty of guests, most of whom attended the July 4th covered dish dinner. As usual the community house was bulging at the seams. Plenty of good food too--as well as entertainment provided by Judy Unsworth and Julie Heckart. A1 and Evelyn White are visiting with Mrs. Dennis at her Mini-Haus. The Burns and Busker families have arrived from Ft. Lauderdale to spend the summer. The Harold Gronquists arrived to spend most of the summer with Harold’s mo ther. The Jerry Ray family came over from Greensboro for the 4th weekend. The Buck Grahams drove up from Hendersonville to round out a full Gronquist household. Maude Andre has arrived with granddaughter Patty from Coral Gables. Grand-' daughter Paulette has been here for a week awaiting their arrival. The Berlin family is in and have as their guests, their nephew Paule Steele, also Mr. and Mrs. Norman Pyle of Mercer, Pa. Mr. Robert Walters has arrived from Gibsonville and has his daughter, Mrs. Jocelyn Brockshire and his granddaughter, Patty as his guests. The Alexanders who have recently returned from a leisurely 6 weeks trip in Europe, have their little granddaughters Heidi and Wendy with them. Helen Underwood and Kathryn Walters arrived a little later than usual this year. It was quite a trip. Dr. and Mrs. Secrest have been enjoying their cabin for a couple of weeks. They have had as houseguests Dr. and Mrs. Insley Granger of Hgh Point College. Dr. Granger is Chairman of the Foreign Language Department. Molly Secrest who spent the last year studying lan guages in Paris, France spent the July 4th weekend with her parents. Mary Melton had her nephew and family in for the holiday weekend. Reeve, Snyder Are United In Marriage Mrs. Warren Scott Reeve of Burnsville takes pleasure in announcing the marriage of her daughter, Eve Lynne Joan, to Ronald Allen Vincent Snyder, Jr. at her home, Winged Rhythm, on March 22,1977. The bride is also the daughter of the late Rev. Reeve. Mr. Snyder is the son of Dr. Caroline Magruder Snyder and the late Mr. Snyder. The bride who wore her mother’s wedding gown and carried her great grandmo ther’s lace handkerchief, is a graduate, with honors from Moravian Seminary for Wo men; has a Bachelor of Music, cum laude, from Beaver College, Glenside, Pa.; a Master of Arts in music from University of Pennsylvania; an Artists Diploma from Philadelphia Music Academy and five gold medals in International Recording Com petitions. Mrs. Schnupp is busy these days since daughter Linda Peacock and grand daughter Kelly arrived. Betty Hogan is in with daughter Jan who 1 am told is recovering from chicken pox. Willie Klemments is in with friend tiara Durham from -Atlanta to spend the summer. The Summer is really shaping up when we see Lee and Terry Schultz arrive. Just wish Ella and Mary Ann Batcheller could be with us. Don’t forget our Wednes day night Bingo games starting July 6th at 7:30 p.m. We’ll see you there. her mother, of Music in the Mountains, the bride is associated with the Charlotte Oratorio Singers as a harpsi chordist as well as with the North Carolina Symphony; The Asheville Symphony; the Winston-Salem Symphony and the Mozart Qub of Winston-Salem; listed in Who’s Who of Women; the World Who’s Who of Women; International Who’s Who of Music and the International Who’s Who in Community Service. Mr. Snyder is a graduate of East Yancey High School and an honor graduate of Mary Help of Christians in Florida. Having recently re turned from overseas comple ting a tour of duty with the U.S. Army as a micro-wave communications specialist, he is employed by Baxter’s Laboratories in Marion, N.C.
