Harold Anglin & Family Dear Editor: I’d like to address my letter to the parents of small chUdren In Yancey County. If you are thinking of placing your child in Day Care or Head Start, I strongly recom mend Head Start. If you have a handicapped or special needs chUd Head Start is the place for that child. My child, Melanie, has Downs Syndrome. She has been enrolled In Head Start for two years and is going back next year. The people at Head Start have helped Melanie in many ways. Words cannot express my thanks and ap preciation for their time and patience they have had with her. She has progressed and teneflted greatly in ways I’d never thought possible. Head Start has nutritious snacks and a well balanced lunch each day. Also, they have a devoted staff with love and understanding for the chUdren that go there. I am truly grateful for everything they have done for my child. If you have a small child, consider Head Start. I highly recommend it.
