eral at Kiaer Wallace waa
held at hla home church,
Mt. Morlah. Mr. Wallace was
one of the oldest citizens
ot the Hot House Community.
Aa a young man ha waa an
employee of the Tennessee
Copper Co. In later years an
active farmer.
His wife, Lizzie Hyde Wal
lace, proceeded him In death
by several years.
In this union was born one
son, Hershall Wallace, of Cul
berson, two daughters, Mrs.
Edith Chastaln and Mrs. Ada
Wlthrow, both of Culberson.
The following grand child
ren attended his funeral: Fred
Chastaln, Detroit, Mich; Floyd
Chastaln, Winchester, Vs.;

the monthly trip to Atlanta
Naval Air Station for two days
with the Navy. And they both
think Its Just greatl They can't
ia>derstand why more young
men don't take advantage of
this program.

Reservist Program offers:

year with your friends and
neighbors. Your training and
dedication will be sharpened
each year on the two-week
cruise which enables you id
put your Navy skills to
practical use. And If the need
arises, youll be proud In your
knowledge that you, too, are
ready, willing and able to de
fend your nation against all
aggressors.
EDUCATION -

methods and techniques are
constantly being developed and

will be kept current. With the
classroom and on-the-job In
struction you will acquire ex

ADVANCEMENT - As an
active Weekend Warrior, you
not only retain your present
rate but you can advance to
the higher ratings at an ac
celerated pace. For example
a Petty Officer 3rd Class can
meet the time In rate require
ments for Chief Petty Officer
by participating a minimum of
32 days a year for only 6 1/2
years. In addition, several
paths are open for active
Weekend Warriors to com
missioned rank. The op
portunities are open In the
Navy Air Reserve.
BENEFITS -Navy Exchange
privileges are limited while
on drill duty ? on the two
week cruise, full Navy Ex
change and small store privi
leges apply. Recreational
facilities are available ?
Reservists and their de
pendents. Medical care Is pro
vided while In drill sums
and active duty training
cruises. These and many more
benefits are available for the
participating WEEKEND
WARRIOR.
PAY ? Need help In pay
ing the mortgage? Financing
your Insurance program.
While you are In a drill sta
tus as a Weekend Warrior you
will receive one day's base
pay of your rating for each
four hours of duty, totaling
four days pay each weekend.
During the annual train
ing cruise, you will receive
full pay and allowance for
your rating for each day of
fulldme ditty. In addition, you
will be eligible for flight pay
If you are a member of an
aircraft crew.
TRAVEL ? World Travel
has always been the forte of
the Navy, and the Navy Air
Reserve Is no exception. The
annual two-week training duty
is usually performed at Navy
Air Stations other than your
own. Leading squadrons each
year are picked to train over
seas. In addition, as a Week
end Warrior, you are entitled
to travel via government air
craft on a space available
RETIREMENT ? At the
moment, retirement Is far
from your mind. Plans should
be mads now to Insure re
tirement without financial
worries. Your retirement pay
will be computed on yt
